🧘 Yoga Student Etiquette & Mindful Conduct
Yoga is not only a practice on the mat. It is also reflected in how we think, speak and behave with others. As a yoga student, cultivating awareness, respect and kindness in everyday life is an important part of the journey.
Be Respectful
Treat local people, staff, teachers and fellow students with courtesy and respect.
Be Patient & Calm
Travel and daily life in a new place may sometimes be different from what you are accustomed to. Stay patient, calm and understanding.
Be Punctual
Arrive on time for your yoga class and respect the scheduled practice time.
Be Mindful of Others
Keep your voice low and avoid disturbing people around you, especially inside and around the yoga centre.
Listen & Communicate Clearly
If you need assistance, speak politely and communicate your needs clearly.
Respect the Local Culture
Goa has its own local traditions, customs and way of life. Observe them respectfully and avoid behaviour that may cause discomfort or offence.
Practise Ahimsa — Non-Harming
Let your yoga practice extend beyond the mat through kindness, patience and non-harming in your interactions with others.
🐾 Care for Animals
Please treat animals with kindness and respect. If you see an injured, distressed, or abandoned animal, please avoid disturbing or handling the animal unnecessarily. Where possible, contact a local animal welfare organisation, rescue service, or veterinary hospital for assistance and provide the location and basic details of the situation.
Why it matters
When you approach people with respect, patience and kindness, communication becomes easier. You are more likely to receive cooperation, guidance and support, and your experience in Goa can become more comfortable, peaceful and meaningful.
The way you practise on the mat gradually becomes the way you live off the mat. Let your yoga be reflected in your everyday conduct.
